Our project aimed to bring a different perspective to environmental issues, and we largely achieved this goal. The first step was to bring young people together with the 1854 letter of Native American Chief Seattle to raise awareness about environmental issues. The content of the letter served as a guide for the participants, particularly the references to air, soil, water, and animals, which helped cultivate a sense of respect for the environment and the awareness that these values need to be preserved. The participants discussed each paragraph of the letter, adapting it to the present day and debating how we should approach environmental issues. This process offered them an opportunity to view the environment not just as a biological space, but also as a cultural and spiritual value. Seminars and discussion sessions allowed participants to question their individual responsibilities toward the environment and encouraged them to generate creative solutions. For example, during the “Renewable Energy” session, participants learned about renewable energy sources and reinforced their knowledge by presenting interactive group work. In the “Protecting our Water” session, an in-depth discussion was held about the protection of water resources. In these activities, participants not only learned theoretical knowledge but also gained practical skills on how to develop solutions for environmental problems in their daily lives. Other project activities were also very effective in reinforcing environmentally friendly behaviors. For example, during the “Make Place Great Again” event, creative campaigns were developed to make the hotel more eco-friendly. Participants worked within a limited budget to propose realistic and effective solutions, contributing to the aof an environmentally friendly space. This activity raised their awareness of environmental issues and highlighted the importance of efficient resource use. Throughout the project, various creative methods were used to enhance environmental awareness. Activities like “Mission Impossible,” where participants interacted with the local community to undertake environmental awareness tasks, helped them feel a sense of responsibility toward their communities. In addition, activities such as “Youthpass and Erasmus+” allowed participants to learn various concepts and become more conscious of their participation in international projects. By the end of the project, a noticeable change occurred in the participants’ attitudes toward the environment. Many developed a deeper awareness of environmental issues and, as a result, began adopting more eco-friendly habits. Moreover, the project had significant impacts at the European level. It brought together young people from different cultures, emphasizing that environmental awareness is not only a local but a global issue. Participants learned how different cultures approach environmental issues, broadening their perspectives. In conclusion, the knowledge, skills, and attitudes gained by participants in relation to environmental awareness shaped the project’s goals. The success of generating innovative ideas and solutions played a crucial role in achieving the project’s objectives. Moving forward, the aim is to reach more people through similar projects and raise awareness on a global scale about environmental issues.
