According to Eurostat data for the European Union, an average EU citizen produces 5.2 tons of waste annually. According to Eurostat data, the amount of waste produced per person is 27 tons in Estonia, 25 tons in Finland, 21 tons in Bulgaria, 17 tons in Luxembourg, and 15 tons in Sweden. Approximately 40% of this waste is collected in regular waste areas by municipalities and takes up space on our lands. This regular storage takes up space on land and can cause air, water, and soil pollution, while incineration can cause air pollutant emissions. Therefore, EU waste management policies aim to reduce the environmental and health impacts of waste and improve the EU's resources (Eurostat, 2018). In order to reduce waste, alternative methods to recycling that make the raw materials of goods reusable have also become quite popular in recent years. One of these is upcycling. Upcycling is the reuse of an old and no longer used item by giving it a function different from its original purpose. *What are the Benefits of Upcycling? -Reduction of waste: Instead of throwing away items that we no longer want to use, we reduce our waste production by creating a new usage area. -Savings: You can save money by creating a new product when you would normally buy it. -Creativity: Since you produced this item, it is not part of mass production, it is just one and it belongs to you! -Feeling good: Upcycling can make you feel good, just like being involved in an art. You can have a pleasant time using both your creativity and manual skills. In this context, the general aim of our project was to increase the awareness of young people and youth workers about upcycling and to contribute to the sustainability of Europe by providing them with practical skills that they can use in their own lives. The secondary objectives of our project were as follows: -To increase the collaborative working capacity of young people and youth workers. -To reveal their entrepreneurial skills. -To increase their awareness of the linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe. -To increase their knowledge about the Erasmus+ program
