Adolescence (12-18 age range), which is the last of the child development periods, is considered as a period in which individuals are prepared physically, mentally and psychologically for adulthood. It has been observed that these processes experienced in the adolescence period cause negative consequences on the young individual from time to time. These negative results; It is confronted with grievances such as being driven to crime, having a history of substance use, being neglected and abused, and social withdrawal. As Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, we work with young people who experience such grievances and rehabilitate them. The institutions where our young people stay are established in places that can be included in the natural ecosystem, far from the city center, in a way to contribute to the rehabilitation process. Agriculture, beekeeping, animal husbandry etc. in the geographical region where our establishments are located. it was thought that ecological activities could create a positive effect in the rehabilitation process of young people, and priority was given to carrying out the mentioned ecological studies by giving priority to this idea. During the studies, those who were driven to crime, had a history of substance use, attention deficit, hyperactivity, etc. have gained positive gains in the rehabilitation processes of children with behavioral problems. It has been observed that young people's attention spans and the duration of their attendance at school have increased, and the problems of harmony and communication among their peers at school and in social environments have decreased. In the follow-up studies we have done with our young people who are of age and leave the institutions, continuing our ecological activities from the first period, which started in 2020, it has been understood that our work has benefited them in acquiring a profession. As a result of our observations and research, we have seen that working with and for nature contributes positively to the personal development of young people, regardless of their past experiences. We aim to strengthen these practices, which we implemented as a pilot in our project and obtained positive results, with permaculture practices, to spread them to a wider area, to transfer them to young people from other countries and to contribute to their well-being. Permaculture is a design system that aims to create sustainable human settlements. Permaculture is about plants, animals, buildings and infrastructure (water, energy, communication) at one level. Permaculture is concerned with how we place these elements in the landscape and how we can create interrelationships between them. The aim is to create long-term sustainable, ecologically healthy and economically viable systems that meet the needs of cities and villages, do not exploit and pollute the environment. It combines the characteristics of the land and structures with the natural features of plants and animals, using even the smallest possible area. Permaculture is simply the philosophy of working with nature, not against it. It considers all the functions of plants and animals through long thoughtful observation. Therefore, throughout our project, we aim to convey an ecological consciousness to young people with permaculture practices and to increase their well-being with these practices. With our project, young people: -To enable them to understand the natural processes, the teachings of nature, the effects of humans on nature and the place of humans in nature, -To increase their well-being by enabling them to be in touch with nature, -Learn to minimize waste as much as possible by using sustainable resources, -To increase the motivation to take individual responsibility in order to ensure sustainability, -To change environmental awareness, environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes and behaviors in a positive way, To increase well-being through ecological activities, - Increasing their intercultural competence by enabling them to interact constructively with other languages, values and cultures, - Self-confidence, problem solving, adaptability, flexibility, etc. to strengthen their competencies such as -To increase their harmony with nature, -Development of foreign language skills, - Gain experience in the field of Erasmus+ youth projects, - Increasing the values of the European Union and the cultures of being European, -Contributing to the destruction of prejudices and stereotypes among people, - Increasing their awareness on social issues and thus encouraging their active participation in society, -We aim to create local, national and international public opinion and produce solutions.
