Objectives

The main objective of our project was to raise awareness among young people about environmental issues and encourage them to adopt sustainable lifestyles on both individual and societal levels. In today's world, where environmental challenges are increasing daily, it is critical for young people to understand the impact of their actions and recognize how their individual efforts can contribute to broader societal change. The project aimed to highlight the value of bio-waste as a recyclable resource and demonstrate how it can be utilized effectively. Participants were introduced to various composting techniques, helping them integrate practical and eco-friendly methods into their daily routines while understanding the positive environmental effects of these practices. Another significant goal of the project was to guide young people in reducing their carbon footprints. Participants learned about the harmful greenhouse gas emissions, particularly methane, produced by bio-waste in landfills and explored ways to minimize these emissions. By promoting the recycling of bio-waste, the project contributed to reducing environmental harm and conserving natural resources. The activities encouraged participants to reflect on their daily routines and make changes that align with sustainable living principles, thereby fostering individual and collective responsibility. The project also aligned closely with the environmental objectives of the European Union. Participants gained insights into the EU's policies and strategies, including its goal to become climate-neutral by 2050 and increase recycling rates. By understanding these frameworks, participants could better relate their individual actions to global environmental goals, emphasizing their role in contributing to sustainable development. Digital literacy was another key focus of the project, as participants combined their environmental knowledge with digital tools to enhance their learning and dissemination activities. Throughout the project, digital platforms were actively used to share experiences, outcomes, and best practices. Participants strengthened their digital skills while creating and sharing content, enabling them to effectively communicate the importance of environmental sustainability. This approach not only supported the project's objectives but also equipped participants with essential competencies for the modern world. A unique aspect of the project was its emphasis on intercultural dialogue. Young people from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds collaborated to address environmental challenges, sharing their perspectives and good practices. This exchange of ideas enriched the learning experience and allowed participants to gain a broader understanding of global environmental issues. By working together, they developed solutions that were informed by a variety of cultural contexts, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening international cooperation. One of the core achievements of the project was helping participants recognize the power of individual action in driving societal transformation. By making small but impactful changes to their lifestyles, participants experienced firsthand how they could contribute to a more sustainable future. The project also encouraged active participation in environmental and climate policies, empowering young people to take on roles as advocates for change within their communities and beyond. The project's impact extended beyond the participants to the wider community through effective dissemination of its outcomes. Activities and practices were shared with other stakeholders, creating a ripple effect that raised awareness and inspired action at local, national, and international levels. By addressing key issues such as sustainability, green transformation, and intercultural collaboration, the project successfully contributed to fostering a generation of environmentally conscious and proactive individuals. The participants not only gained valuable knowledge and skills but also became role models for sustainable living, advocating for a better future for all.
