Through art (Drama, Music, Theatre, Creative Thinking, and Painting), our project aimed to help young people from all walks of life—especially disadvantaged individuals—adapt to social life, find their place in society, and establish healthy communication. To strengthen participants' well-being, we prioritized the development of social skills such as listening, initiating conversations, asking questions, expressing gratitude, introducing oneself, asking for help, joining a group, giving and following instructions, apologizing, and making decisions. Additionally, we focused on core competencies like understanding and expressing emotions, recognizing others' emotions, cooperating within groups, fulfilling responsibilities, and considering others' perspectives. Our overarching goal was to enhance young people's social integration through artistic activities. Named I’m Here, the project aimed to empower individuals with low social visibility due to a lack of social skills, helping them confidently say, "I’m here!" and become more visible in society. The project participants included 37 individuals aged 15–20 from five different countries, some of whom had social skill deficiencies. They came together to develop these skills through art forms like Drama, Music, and Painting. The aim was to encourage participants to break free from restrictive patterns and realize their potential. Guided by art, the project allowed participants to discover their creative sides and create their own works. This approach helped them recognize their talents and explore their potential. The activities, conducted in collaboration with individuals from different cultures, showcased how diverse elements can come together harmoniously, much like pieces of a puzzle. This process aimed to help participants develop problem-solving skills collaboratively. By the end of the project, the participants had discovered their strengths, increased their self-confidence, and improved their communication skills. The project facilitated interaction between youth from different countries through group activities, cultural night events, and intercultural communication and learning workshops. Topics such as European values, human rights, and equality were included in the workshops. The development of participants' skills and attitudes was achieved through art. With mediums like Drama, Music, Theatre, Creative Thinking, and Painting, the participants explored the areas where they best expressed themselves or felt most comfortable, further nurturing their development. They found answers to questions like, "Which art form represents me?", "What are my talents?", and "Who am I?". Communication exercises enabled them to understand themselves better and strengthen their ties to society. Additionally, teamwork practices enhanced their group collaboration skills, while event design workshops taught them how to transform ideas into actionable projects. Creative drama workshops and sessions on effective communication, nonviolent communication, and intercultural interaction aimed to break stereotypes and foster empathy. Role-playing activities brought together disadvantaged and advantaged groups, emphasizing empathy and challenging biases. Awareness-raising, societal participation, and active citizenship skills were supported through event design workshops. Participants identified societal issues and created events to raise awareness, implementing these projects by the end of the program. This not only increased their self-awareness but also strengthened their sense of active citizenship by contributing to society. The theme of inclusion encouraged socially isolated youth to engage more actively in social life. Activities designed to emphasize each individual's unique qualities enabled participants to understand themselves and others, find common ground, and strengthen social bonds. Our project sought to increase participants' self-confidence, communication, and active citizenship skills, thereby enhancing their societal participation. By bringing together youth from different cultures, the project fostered peer learning, cultural exchange, and youth mobility. The inclusion and skill development of socially disadvantaged individuals were key outcomes of the project.
