In our world, which has begun to digitalize, our energy consumption, accordingly, our waste, the emission of harmful gases and therefore the rate of pollution of the environment are increasing day by day. It is clear that we are at an important point in the digitalization path, including the money we use to meet our needs in daily life. With the impact of this worldwide transformation, the use of digital money has increased by 10 percent compared to the previous year, according to a survey conducted by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and according to a study by Cambridge University, if only Bitcoin is interpreted with its current performance, it is 121.36 terawatt / hour on an annual basis consumes energy (in other words, 121,360,000,000 kilowatt-hours of electrical energy per year). This makes Bitcoin the 27th largest electricity consumer in the world with 138.11 terawatt/hour usage, surpassing Sweden in the 2019 rankings (Turkey is in the 17th place). It is realized by solving very complex mathematical problems on many computers that require technological infrastructure. For this very reason, it is necessary to take a look at its environmental effects, especially with its recent popularity. In this project, it is aimed to raise awareness about the spread of popular digital currencies and their effects on the environment. Providing the energy used by computers in environmentally friendly ways and thus seeking ways to reduce CO2 emissions and our carbon footprint will contribute towards carbon neutrality. Our aim is that they involve the young people in the project is because we can move forward in a more sustainable and active way when we walk this path together with the young people. It is to ensure that young people, and therefore future generations, look at digitalization from different perspectives and become individuals who play a role in solving the energy crisis that has emerged in the world. - The environmental awareness of the youth was increased. - It is ensured to be aware of different cultures and environment and to be aware of the approaches of different countries regarding the environment through one-on-one observation. - Preventing waste generation and taking environmentally sensitive measures in all activities to be carried out significantly served the purpose of protecting the green together with the digitality that the project wanted to realize. - Opportunities were created for young people to take a different perspective on the production of digital money popularly and to become aware of the large amounts of energy consumed in the production process. - Young people also increased their digital competencies the activities they experienced in the light of the knowledge they have gained in the training on "block chain" and energy consumption, and in this way, the 2030 digital targets of the European Commission were contributed. - It increased the interest in youth programs in Sakarya, to ensure equality of opportunity and to ensure that the youth of our city benefit from these opportunities.
