The ability of sports to bring crowds together without discriminating religion, language, race and gender has reinforced the sense of tolerance and solidarity among young people struggling for a common goal. Young people who adopt a passive lifestyle, who are aloof, withdrawn, shy and have difficulty being a part of the society, were transformed into more outgoing, active, emotionally balanced individuals who are always ready to establish social relations. Cultural nights were organized for young people from different countries and cultures to gain European awareness and tolerance and to introduce their local cultures to each other. Awareness of EU Citizenship and accompanying rights was raised. Young people were encouraged to act as active, sensitive and responsible citizens.
