Objectives

The project "Compass: The Common Direction of Humanity" was designed as a response to contemporary issues where individuals are excluded solely due to their religion, language, or ethnic origin, exacerbated by the rise of nationalism and global migration since the 18th century. The primary objective of the project was to build a peaceful youth work culture free from all forms of discrimination by shifting participants' focus from differences to their shared human potential and talents. To this end, through field visits, seminars, and workshops in multicultural and historically significant cities like Istanbul and Jerusalem, the project aimed to increase participants' awareness of interfaith dialogue and develop a sense of civilization based on the common values of these three monotheistic religions. Furthermore, the project sought to enhance the intellectual depth of youth workers and participants, strengthen active citizenship in line with EU Youth Strategies, and ensure the international dissemination of these achievements through tangible outputs such as a documentary and various creative works.
