Objectives

Mass production and overconsumption cause massive waste worldwide, pollute the biosphere, reduce biodiversity and cause climate change. This craving for material objects and the constant search for new products reveals the crucial role of human behavior in the coming ecological, social and economic crises. But the existing global environmental governance, especially in wealthy countries, has been inadequate to address these consumption patterns. Especially in recent years, events such as pandemics, wars, economic crises and natural disasters have placed heavy psychological burdens on people. Therefore, people are consuming to have more through discounts or other sales policies. People who feel that this fulfills them become increasingly addicted to shopping. Global Waste Report analyzes waste generation and management data from around the world. Some of the important statistical information in this regard is as follows: Annual Waste Generation: *Annual waste generation worldwide is around 2.1 billion tons. This is expected to reach 3.4 billion tons by 2050. Waste Management: * About 37% of the waste generated globally is sent to landfills. 33% is disposed of by open burning or dumping in landfills. 19% is recycled or composted. 11% is burned in a contained manner. Food Waste: * Every year, about a third of the food produced globally - 1.3 billion tons - is wasted. The economic worth of food waste is approximately 1 trillion USD. Above statistics highlight the importance of global waste management and recycling endeavors and show that more effective methods need to be developed to reduce the amount of waste. For all these reasons, we implemented our project to help people become aware of this situation before they experience it; we tried to fulfill both our individual and social responsibility. Objectives 1-Through the activities we implemented during the project process, we contributed to the achievement of an insight into the concepts of global waste and minimalism. 2-We helped raise awareness about needless consumption and waste by contributing to the spread of the minimalism movement. 3-We drew attention to the need to reduce needless consumerism by spreading the philosophy of minimalism against shopping addiction. 4-We helped people distance themselves from the perception that every purchase brings happiness. 5-We encouraged the adoption of a conscious lifestyle by adopting the "less is more" principle of minimalism. 6-We raised awareness on Erasmus Plus. 7-We ensured that young people became sensitive to global issues and work together in harmony. 8-We contributed to young people with limited opportunities to benefit from equal opportunities. 9-We contributed to the increase in international cooperation. 10-We emphasized the significance of social responsibility and voluntary work. 11-We helped youth workers to develop their personal skills. 12-We enabled youth workers to increase their creativity and discover their talents. 13-We helped to promote intercultural dialogue. 14-We ensured that young people are informed about different cultures and distance themselves from prejudices. 15-We drew attention to the main objectives and priorities of the Erasmus Plus programs.
