Objectives

As Karabük University, the main objective of implementing the 2023 Erasmus+ KA171 project was to strengthen our university's internationalization process by establishing sustainable academic collaborations with higher education institutions outside the European Union. Within the scope of this project, a strategic partnership was developed solely with Amadou Mahtar Mbow University in Senegal, aiming to promote mutual academic exchange, staff development, and intercultural dialogue. Through this collaboration, the project aimed to increase the global visibility of our university, expand its international cooperation capacity, and create a more inclusive academic environment. Although no student mobility took place, a total of 10 staff mobilities were successfully implemented: 3 incoming staff from Senegal and 7 outgoing staff from Karabük University contributed significantly to academic interaction, training, and international networking. The project also aimed to promote knowledge transfer and professional development between the two institutions. By deepening Karabük University’s engagement with Sub-Saharan Africa, it represented a strategic step toward diversifying international cooperation beyond traditional partner regions.
