Objectives

The main objective of our Erasmus+ project, held in Alicante, Spain from April 8th to April 17th, 2024, was to address the pressing need for sustainable agricultural practices in the face of increasing global population and the detrimental effects of conventional farming methods on both the environment and human health. Given the escalating concerns surrounding the intensive use of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides in conventional agriculture, it was imperative for our project to highlight the importance of transitioning towards ecological farming practices. Our aim was to raise awareness about the adverse effects of chemical-intensive agriculture on soil health, biodiversity and human well-being. Through this project, we sought to educate participants about the principles and benefits of sustainable land management, emphasizing the production of safe and nutritious food while minimizing environmental degradation. By promoting sustainable agriculture, we aimed to contribute to the preservation of soil fertility, conservation of biodiversity and mitigation of climate change impacts associated with conventional farming methods. Moreover, our project aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants from different European countries, facilitating the sharing of best practices and innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture. By bringing together stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, policymakers and educators, we aimed to catalyse positive changes in agricultural practices and policies at both local and global levels. Our project aimed to reduce the threats to the deterioration of the ecological balance with sustainable agricultural practices, to raise awareness of young people, to raise awareness and to spread sustainable agricultural practices and to encourage young people to sustainable agricultural production. In the light of this information, our objectives were: - To raise awareness among young people about sustainable agriculture for the future of the world. - Demonstrating practical ecological farming practices, motivating them to do these practices in the areas where they live - To teach the basics of permaculture as a sustainable agricultural practice - Informing about agricultural pesticides and raising awareness about the correct use of these pesticides - To teach the use of natural methods that do not harm the environment in agricultural practices
