The implementation of the "Yoga for Peace" Youth Exchange aimed to achieve several interconnected objectives, all centered around fostering peace, promoting healthy lifestyles, and nurturing intercultural understanding. Here are the main objectives of the project: Raise Awareness About Peacebuilding: The project aimed to increase awareness among youth participants about the importance of peacebuilding in contemporary society, especially in regions affected by conflicts such as Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia; and the other countries as also affected by these conflicts. By understanding the complexities of conflicts and exploring non-violent methods of resolution, participants could gain insights into constructive ways of addressing conflicts in their communities. Promote Non-violent Conflict Resolution: Another objective was to familiarize participants with non-violent forms of conflict resolution and demonstrate how these methods can be effective in bringing about social change. By sharing experiences and exchanging good practices from different national realities, participants could learn valuable strategies for addressing conflicts peacefully and constructively. Practice Yoga for Inner Peace: Central to the project was the practice of yoga as a means to cultivate inner peace and well-being. Through yoga and breathing sessions and workshops, participants were encouraged to explore the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, ultimately empowering them to find inner calmness and happiness amidst challenging circumstances. Promote European Values and Interculturality: The project aimed to promote European values of peace, tolerance, and cultural diversity. By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds and facilitating intercultural exchanges, the project sought to break stereotypes, foster mutual understanding, and promote a sense of solidarity among European youth. Discuss and Practice Healthy Lifestyles: In addition to yoga, the project aimed to encourage discussions and practical activities related to healthy lifestyles. By exploring different aspects of well-being, including physical fitness, nutrition, and mental health, participants could gain valuable insights into holistic approaches to healthy living. Overall, the "Yoga for Peace" Youth Exchange sought to empower young people to become agents of positive change in their communities by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for promoting peace, understanding, and well-being. Through a combination of educational activities, intercultural exchanges, and yoga practice, the project aimed to inspire participants to embrace peaceful coexistence and contribute to building a more harmonious world.
