Objectives

The main goal for the project was to demystify AI and make it accessible for adult learners. We wanted to dispel fear and misinformation about AI by presenting clear, practical, and ethics-based knowledge. Through the combination of a handbook and training, we wanted to develop educational resources that were engaging and free of jargon for those who are not well-versed in technology. The purpose was to give adults the power to understand and interact with AI and use AI both privately and professionally. To multiply the effects among local communities, we trained educators and trainers, so we created a network of trainers knowledgeable on behalf of training adult learners. It increasingly intends to facilitate digital inclusion, foster the spirit of critical thinking, and promote fine use of AI, particularly among marginalized groups and those with digital illiteracy.

Background

We applied because we saw a need for versatile and reliable information on AI for adults who have little or no digital skills. AI changed the job market and everyday life; adults, in most cases, feel overwhelmed by its abstractness and excessive level of risks. With a genuine, educated touch missing, misinformation and fear hinder a clear understanding of AI as well as how one can apply it for their own good. The goal was to help adults through a supportive learning framework to grasp the basics behind AI, how it is used in everyday life, and most importantly, build confidence. By working with educators, trainers, and NGOs, we would be able to divide and multiply this impact in non-formal education. This project thus allowed us to cross the digital divide and promote any shape of digital readiness while fostering ongoing learning in an inclusive, easily accessible, and empowering environment.
