Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to achieve the creation of an innovative methodology that would support young people in acquiring basic soft skills, complementing formal education. The main objectives included developing a method based on the LifeComp framework that would support personal growth, mental well-being and increasing the employability of young people. We also aimed to conduct a pilot training with 60 students, in which 20 of them would be actively trained in the application of the created methodology. In addition, we adapted the approach from the perspective of educators and provided training to 14 teachers and youth workers in its implementation. We assessed the impact of the applied methodology by collecting feedback from the trained students and teachers, with the aim of its improvement and sustainable development. The project aimed to increase the motivation of young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to actively participate in the educational process and in the life of their communities.
We applied for this project because we identified specific needs of both students and teachers in our organizations. The project focused on the need to develop skills for personal development, mental health and increasing employability by acquiring key soft skills that are not sufficiently developed within formal education. During the preliminary analysis process, we found that many young people, especially from disadvantaged backgrounds, do not have access to training formats that help them build confidence, self-awareness and teamwork skills. In addition, teachers and youth workers needed an effective methodology to teach soft skills in an innovative and engaging way. The project responded to these needs by creating and implementing a methodology based on the LifeComp framework, as well as through training and exchange of good practices between partners.
