Through this project our aim was to: - improve the cultural awareness and expression, media literacy and critical thinking skills of participating students and their parents; - increase the popularity of the participating schools and the motivation of their students. - facilitate the social inclusion of Bulgarian immigrants in the societies in which they live and to prevent their marginalization. - create at least 4 media literacy educational tools. - make participants more tolerant and understanding
We applied for this project to help students from Bulgarian schools abroad connect with their roots and learn about the history of Bulgaria. Often these young people experience difficulties in identifying with Bulgarian culture and traditions, due to a lack of direct contact with Bulgaria. The low motivation to study Bulgarian language and history is a major problem that the project aims to solve. The opportunity to participate in educational activities that connect them with Bulgarian heritage is key to building their national identity. The project also provides an opportunity to create cultural bridges between Bulgarians abroad and those in the homeland, which is important for strengthening the Bulgarian diaspora and preserving cultural traditions in a globalized world.
