The main objective of the project was to strengthen environmental education and sustainability in the adult education sector. We aimed to support educators by creating accessible educational materials such as guides and workshops focused on climate change and sustainable practices. Another key goal was to provide hands-on training that would equip educators with practical skills for implementing eco-friendly methods in their work. We also wanted to foster collaboration and networking among educators to promote the exchange of innovative teaching approaches. Finally, we set out to collect and share best practices from those already applying sustainable methods, with the goal of inspiring wider adoption and long-term impact.
We applied for this project to address the urgent need to improve educators’ competencies in environmental education, climate change, and sustainability. We recognized that educators were key influencers in shaping young people’s attitudes, yet many lacked access to practical tools and often relied on non-sustainable materials like single-use plastics in their teaching. The project aimed to bridge this gap by providing hands-on training and accessible educational resources. It also aligned with the Erasmus+ priority on environment and climate action. Our partners worked with target groups such as Ukrainian refugees, who often had limited environmental awareness. By equipping educators with practical skills and real-life best practices, we aimed to create a lasting impact on both teaching quality and environmental responsibility. The project also supported the internal goals of the partner organizations to implement more sustainable, effective educational practices and to foster international collaboration.
