he main objective of the project was to raise environmental awareness and empower students to take active responsibility for sustainable development. We aimed to increase knowledge about climate change, biodiversity, water, energy consumption, and sustainable lifestyles, while encouraging practical action. Another key objective was to improve students’ and teachers’ digital skills through the use of Web 2.0 tools, collaborative online work, and the creation of digital products. We also aimed to strengthen language skills, intercultural understanding, teamwork, and critical thinking by working in international groups. Additionally, the project aimed to support teachers’ professional development and to create a shared Climate Change Education Guide as a long-term resource for schools.
e applied for this project because we observed a strong need to improve climate change education and environmental awareness among students and teachers in our schools. Climate change, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable lifestyles are global challenges that strongly affect young people, yet these topics are often addressed only theoretically and not sufficiently connected to daily life. At the same time, we identified a need to strengthen digital competences, intercultural understanding, and active citizenship. Our schools wanted to provide students with practical opportunities to learn across borders, exchange ideas with peers from other countries, and develop responsibility for their environment and communities. The project addressed the need for modern, interdisciplinary teaching approaches, stronger cooperation between schools and local communities, and concrete tools that help teachers integrate climate education into everyday school practice.
