Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to support students and teachers in developing stronger digital skills, confidence and awareness, while reducing inequalities in access to digital learning opportunities. A key objective was to help young people use digital tools not only as consumers, but also as creators, problem-solvers and active participants in learning processes. We wanted to encourage students from different backgrounds to work together in an inclusive and international environment, strengthening social skills, teamwork and intercultural understanding. Another important goal was to introduce students to digital entrepreneurship and start-up thinking, helping them understand how technology, creativity and innovation can be combined to address real-life challenges. For teachers, the project aimed to provide new ideas, methods and digital approaches that could be integrated into everyday teaching practice. At partnership level, we sought to build a strong and lasting cooperation between schools and an NGO, enabling the exchange of good practices and supporting long-term collaboration in the field of digital education and inclusion.

Background

We applied for this project because we observed clear differences in how students and teachers access and use digital tools, innovative learning methods and technology-related opportunities. In our schools and partner organisations, not all learners had the same confidence, skills or chances to benefit from digital education, especially those coming from disadvantaged or less supportive backgrounds. At the same time, many students showed strong interest in technology, media and start-up culture, but lacked practical, guided experiences to turn this interest into real skills. Teachers also expressed the need for new approaches that combine digital tools, creativity and entrepreneurship in a meaningful and inclusive way. The project “Towards Digital Equality in Education” was therefore created to respond to these needs by bringing students and educators together in an international learning environment. Through cooperation between schools and an NGO from different countries, we aimed to reduce digital gaps, promote equal opportunities and support young people in developing digital, social and entrepreneurial competences that are essential for their future.
