By implementing this project, we aimed to use music as a tool for intercultural communication, social inclusion, and learning in order to increase students’ interest in art and music. At the same time, the project sought to improve students’ foreign language skills, promote understanding and respect for different cultures, and encourage cooperation with peers from other European countries. The project also aimed to strengthen students’ self-confidence, teamwork, and communication skills while helping them explore different musical genres and cultural traditions. In addition, by creating musical instruments from recycled materials, we wanted to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and climate change. Furthermore, the project intended to help students adapt to new environments and people, build intercultural friendships, and express themselves through music. Another important objective was to strengthen long-term cooperation and relationships among European schools.
The tangible outcomes of our project included four international music performances, one collaborative song and music video, and a collection of musical instruments made from recycled materials. Video recordings and photo archives were shared on digital platforms with all partners. Students significantly improved their practical English and German language skills. They also gained greater self-confidence and developed stronger social and communication skills. A sustainable cooperation network was established among the partner schools, and teachers jointly created educational materials. By experiencing different cultural traditions, the participants strengthened their sense of European citizenship and respect for cultural diversity. The inclusion of Ukrainian refugee students during the mobility in Lublin increased the inclusive impact of the project. Through school exhibitions, social media, and local press coverage, the project reached thousands of people. In addition, teachers gained new competences in international project management and intercultural music education.
