The project "Capturing EU Values" aimed to empower young people with fewer opportunities—particularly those with migrant and refugee backgrounds—by offering them meaningful travel experiences through the DiscoverEU Inclusion Action. The central objective was to encourage reflection on European Union values such as democracy, human rights, inclusion, solidarity, and cultural diversity through experiential learning and photography. Through three educational train journeys across Europe, the project sought to: - Promote active citizenship and European identity among 18-year-olds through direct exposure to diverse cultures, languages, and historical narratives across the EU. - Foster social inclusion by enabling young people with limited travel access to participate in intercultural mobility and engage in collaborative learning environments. - Support creative expression and critical thinking, using photography as a tool for young people to document, reflect on, and share their understanding of EU values. - Enhance personal and social competences such as self-confidence, empathy, teamwork, and communication, through group activities, reflection sessions, and public dissemination. - Encourage digital engagement and visibility, with participants creating and sharing visual content on social media to involve wider communities in their learning process. - Enable non-formal learning recognition by guiding participants through the Youthpass process to identify and articulate competences gained during the project.
