Objectives

The project aimed to achieve several objectives to help young people grow and learn: Promoting Healthy Cooking: The project aimed to encourage young people to adopt healthier cooking habits and demonstrate that cooking at home can be quick, affordable, and healthier than eating out. Making Friends through Cooking: The project aimed to help young people from different parts of Europe connect and make friends through the shared activity of cooking. We also wanted to learn about each other’s cultures through our national cuisines. Learning Important Life Skills: The project intended to teach young people important skills like budgeting, cooking for ourselves, and socializing, which are crucial for daily life. Learning about Sustainability in Cooking: We wanted to learn about local and sustainable food and how to reduce food waste. Improving English and Overcoming Language Barriers: The project provided a situation where participants could improve their English language skills and overcome language barriers, especially through teamwork and group work challenges and shared free time activities. Building Teamwork and Adaptability: The project activities were designed so that they would enhance group dynamics and improve teamwork skills among the participants. Building independence: Since all of the activities (including budget responsibilities, designing activities, workshops, free time activities, also designing some of the meals, were done and organised by the participants themselves; meaning group leaders were there to support activities, not organise everything for the participants), one of the goals was to provide a platform for the participants to take responsibility, be independent and entrepreneurial.
