Objectives

By implementing the project, our aim was to equip Vocational Education and Training (VET) educators with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their teaching practices. The project aimed to address the growing need for digital transformation in education, ensuring that both educators and students were prepared for the demands of the modern workforce. The key objectives included: Creating a Comprehensive AI Tool Database: A curated list of 30 AI tools tailored to the needs of VET educators was compiled and categorized by functionality, serving as a valuable resource for teachers navigating the expanding landscape of AI technologies. Developing Best Practices and Case Studies: 22 exemplary case studies of AI integration in VET settings were compiled, highlighting practical applications and innovative methodologies. Piloting AI Tools: Through rigorous testing of 12 AI tools using Bloom’s Taxonomy, the project assessed their relevance and effectiveness in enhancing teaching and learning. Empowering Educators: Training sessions were conducted for 58 VET teachers, providing hands-on experience and actionable insights, enabling them to confidently use AI tools.

Background

The motivation for this project was driven by the growing need for Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions to adapt to advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and integrate these technologies into teaching practices. Traditional teaching methods have struggled to meet the evolving demands of students and industries, which increasingly require digital literacy and AI proficiency. This gap prompted the creation of the "Using Artificial Intelligence in the Work of a Teacher" project, aiming to modernize vocational training and equip educators with innovative AI tools. The specific needs addressed by this project include bridging the gap between educators and AI technology, enhancing digital literacy among VET educators, and improving student engagement through interactive and personalized learning approaches. Additionally, the project seeks to develop resources that help teachers navigate the diverse and rapidly expanding array of AI tools, enabling them to select and apply the most effective solutions in their teaching contexts. By focusing on these areas, the project contributes to the innovation and sustainability of vocational education, ensuring it remains relevant to the workforce's changing needs.
