Objectives

We aimed to strengthen the psychosocial resilience of vulnerable youth by equipping them with the skills, tools, and support needed to overcome adversity, improve mental well-being, and develop a strong sense of self-worth. Through this project, we wanted to empower young people to become confident, capable, and active participants in their communities, while also building local capacity to provide inclusive and sustainable psychosocial support.

Background

We applied for the "YOUTH BUILD" project because I am deeply committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of vulnerable young people. I believe that building psychosocial resilience is essential for helping youth overcome adversity, develop self-confidence, and thrive in their communities. This project aligns with my passion for empowering marginalized youth by providing them with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to grow into strong, resilient, and active contributors to society. The YOUTH BUILD project addresses key gaps in psychosocial support for vulnerable youth. At the organizational level, there is a lack of expertise, resources, and focus on emotional well-being. Nationally, youth face high rates of mental health issues, social exclusion, trauma (especially among refugees), and limited support for those with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project responds by providing inclusive, strengths-based support to build resilience, promote mental health, and empower youth as leaders in their communities.
