Objectives

STRIVE successfully promoted and operationalized gender equality management in Greece, Austria, and Cyprus by enhancing the knowledge and skills of managers, HR staff, and employees. Throughout the project, we fostered a workplace culture of inclusion and respect by implementing targeted trainings for managers and dissemination activities. The project contributed to gender equality by providing equitable professional opportunities regardless of an individual's gender, ensuring that workplaces across the participating countries adopted more inclusive policies and practices.

Background

We applied for the STRIVE project to address persistent gender inequality in workplaces across Greece, Austria, and Cyprus. Despite existing legal frameworks, many organizations still lack practical tools and training to implement inclusive policies. Key issues included underrepresentation of women in leadership, inadequate work-life balance strategies, and weak prevention of harassment and discrimination. Our needs assessment revealed a clear gap in structured support for organizations to promote gender equality. STRIVE addressed this by developing a practical, data-informed Gender Inclusion Guidebook and delivering a Train-the-Trainer program to build internal capacity for sustainable change. The project aimed to empower HR staff, managers, and employees with knowledge and tools to foster inclusive workplace cultures. The motivation behind our project was not only to improve compliance with equality standards but to support long-term cultural transformation. Through the promotion of values such as diversity, respect, and fairness, STRIVE made a first step towards the creation of workplaces that are more resilient, equitable, and aligned with EU values.
