Objectives

We expected to consolidate a replicable framework that schools could integrate easily into their curriculum, focusing on three strategic lines: Digital transformation and STEAM competences: enabling teachers and students to acquire practical skills in 3D design with Tinkercad and understand the 3D printing workflow, through guided, product-oriented classroom activities. European cultural literacy: bringing European heritage (with a focus on Eastern Europe) closer to students through 3D models and classroom-ready educational materials that connect history, geography, communication and digital competence. Sustainability with an entrepreneurial mindset: going beyond recycling alone by implementing a learning pathway on circular economy and sustainable business creation, aligned with the SDGs and linked to real-life decision-making and challenges (including the PET/filament line). To ensure scalability, we also expected to deliver teacher-friendly resources (digital and unplugged activities, video tutorials and editable templates) and a portal to support adoption and long-term use. Additionally, as an inclusion measure, we planned full Ukrainian translation to better support diverse European classrooms.

Background

We applied for EU FOR ALL to address three clear needs identified in our schools and Erasmus+ network: strengthening real digital transformation in the classroom, boosting a STEAM/competences approach, and connecting sustainability and European cultural heritage through hands-on, teacher-friendly learning experiences. First, the project was designed to help teachers and students develop advanced digital skills through 3D design with Tinkercad, while also increasing motivation for STEAM learning and active methodologies. Second, we identified a strong educational gap: the limited presence of Eastern European heritage in everyday school practice and the lack of attractive, ready-to-use resources aligned with teachers’ reality. EU FOR ALL responds by bringing European heritage into the classroom through 3D-based cultural learning. Finally, the project tackles sustainability in a more actionable way by going beyond “recycling as a concept” and integrating circular economy and an entrepreneurial mindset, supported by real-world oriented materials that can be implemented across subjects.
