Objectives

Our project had the following main objectives and expected outcomes: - A broader understanding of their cultural heritage so that they are aware of its richness and can share it. - Development of “learning to learn” and “digital” skills, improving ICT skills alongside English language skills, while acquiring a spirit of voluntary work. - Greater awareness of global and environmental issues and the influence we have on our planet, in the hope that this new technological era will prepare them well to face the complex demands of life and work in the 21st century. - A significant improvement in language skills, in English as the language of the project, as well as enthusiasm for learning other languages from the partners with whom they have shared their work. - Strengthened cooperation between European schools, broadening the European dimension in education and enabling a beneficial exchange of ideas, practices and knowledge. - Improved quality of education through the exchange of good teaching practices and innovative pedagogical strategies between partners.

Background

The main reason for applying for this project was to make our students aware of the growing global trend of learning more about other cultures, from a contemporary perspective in the changing digital and European environment of the 21st century. Thus, the needs we have addressed are: - Raising awareness among our students about their own heritage, traditions and rich culture, as well as that of their new classmates. - Participating in all kinds of events and activities organised by the host schools for the local community and participants from other countries. - Understanding the importance of their own language, as well as that of other countries. - Training independent researchers, creative thinkers, reflective learners and team workers. - Work on the duality of enhancing ICT skills by working with new technologies. - Instil in them a new awareness so that they can make a difference in the changing world that awaits them, contributing to the improvement of their learning outcomes. - Contribute to opening up European horizons for our students by offering them a European perspective, as they come from rural schools.
