Objectives

With the HOSSKILLS project, we aimed to improve the digital competences of entrepreneurs, professionals, and students in the hospitality sector, helping them adapt to an increasingly digital environment. The main objective was to bring vocational education and training closer to the real needs of the sector, especially in the field of entrepreneurship. To achieve this, the project focused on identifying good digitalisation practices in real businesses and transforming them into useful training resources. It also aimed to develop practical and accessible learning modules, together with an open online platform that would facilitate access to the content. In addition, the project sought to promote an innovative mindset by encouraging the use of digital tools to improve management and customer relations, while also strengthening collaboration between partners at the European level.

Background

The HOSSKILLS project was designed to respond to a clear need within the hospitality sector: improving its adaptation to digitalisation. Following the changes experienced in recent years, many businesses in the sector have had to incorporate digital tools for management, customer communication, and service promotion, but they do not always have the necessary training to use them effectively. For this reason, the project focused on supporting entrepreneurs, professionals, VET students, and teachers in the hospitality field by bringing training closer to the real needs of the labour market. A lack of practical and accessible resources on this topic was also identified, so the project worked on creating training materials, real-life case studies, and an open platform to help develop useful digital competences that can be applied in everyday professional contexts.
