Objectives: 1. To create a development plan for the ‘Green Way Arts and Crafts ’- green skills-training program for the qualifications of arts and crafts. 2.To reach a common understanding of the key green skills needed by future professionals in the arts and crafts sector. 3. To strengthen the role of vocational education in the arts and crafts sector by innovating educational models for training sustainable development and responsibility. The Pro Green Way Arts and Crafts project was Erasmus+ KA-210 VET initiative that brought together representatives from vocational education institutions from Finland, France, and Portugal. The goal was to collaboratively define the essential green skills for the future of the arts and crafts industry and create a development plan for integrating these skills into educational programs. Key themes and objectives of the project centered around the green transition and its implications for the arts and crafts sector and education.
Ecological interior design is a global rising trend. Redesigning and reusing existing things, changing the purpose of goods and being responsible in materials inspire ecologically-minded people, companies and vocational education centers in Europe and globally as well. More natural and ethically sustainable alternatives are being sought for both working and materials, which are utilized in the development of education in the field. The arts and crafts sector needs content for its education that takes into account and promotes the green transition, and in order for education to be effective, it needs common European skills requirements for the sector. It was thought that the best way to find the professional skills requirements was through joint dialogue, reflection and familiarization with the needs of different countries regarding training in the field of arts and craft. Based on these, it was also meaningful to draft a proposal model for the content of the training program for further development. This small-scale Erasmus+KA210 Pro Green Way Arts and Crafts cooperation project wanted to respond to these needs.
