Objectives

The project aimed to reduce social isolation among older adults and vulnerable populations by strengthening their ability to participate fully in social and civic life. In particular, it sought to promote their independence by improving their access to information, rights, services, and activities in their local communities. A key objective was also to help bridge the digital divide by enabling beneficiaries to develop basic skills and become more comfortable using digital tools that have become indispensable in daily life. The project also aimed to strengthen social ties by facilitating access to opportunities for participation (activities, services, local initiatives) and to improve beneficiaries’ well-being by reducing situations of exclusion and social withdrawal. Finally, it aimed to build the capacity of professionals and volunteers to support these populations, in order to ensure a lasting impact and greater social inclusion at the local level. In terms of expected deliverables, the following were planned: the development of a digital application the creation of user guides the training of at least 10 people + key influencers

Background

The project aimed to promote the social inclusion of older adults and vulnerable populations by improving their access to digital technology and information. It was based on the observation that, in the context of an aging population and the growing precariousness and vulnerability of households, these groups face significant difficulties in accessing their rights, essential services, and daily activities, which can exacerbate their social isolation. The project, co-led by ADIL 82, ACLI, and Support Girona (replacing the Arnau Foundation), was designed to enable a multi-channel approach in terms of the skills and core competencies mobilized (expertise in working with older and socially vulnerable populations, including active support for resource mobilization to foster autonomy and social inclusion, and specific technical expertise related to housing, particularly for vulnerable populations). These three organizations work directly with these populations as intermediary actors who support them, and, as such, were able to both identify operational needs and mobilize effective solutions.
