The main objective of the Breaking Digital Boundaries project was to promote social inclusion and combat discrimination against migrants and refugees through creative digital methods. We aimed to empower adult migrants to express their personal stories using tools like video, posters, and social media campaigns. Additionally, we sought to strengthen the digital and intercultural competencies of adult educators, raise awareness among the wider public, and influence policies related to inclusion and migration. By fostering empathy, collaboration, and understanding, we wanted to build more inclusive, respectful, and informed communities across Europe.
We applied for the Breaking Digital Boundaries project to address the growing discrimination and social exclusion faced by migrants and refugees across Europe, particularly adults who are often overlooked in educational initiatives. Our aim was to empower these individuals by combining digital storytelling with social advocacy, enabling them to share their experiences, build confidence, and combat harmful stereotypes. We also aimed to support adult educators in acquiring inclusive teaching tools and digital media skills, while encouraging policy-level awareness and action. The project responded to clear needs: to bridge the digital divide, strengthen intercultural understanding, and foster inclusive communities through creativity and collaboration.
