By implementing this project, we aimed to improve students’ well-being, motivation and academic engagement by creating a more inclusive and supportive school environment. One of our main objectives was to prevent and reduce peer bullying by developing students’ social skills, empathy and sense of belonging. We also wanted to promote inclusion, especially for students with fewer opportunities, by giving them the chance to participate in international experiences and collaborative activities. Another key objective was to enhance students’ language skills, particularly in English, while fostering intercultural awareness and European values such as tolerance, respect and cooperation. In addition, we aimed to use music as an innovative teaching tool to encourage creativity, teamwork and active participation. Finally, we sought to support teachers by sharing good practices and developing new pedagogical approaches through international cooperation.
We applied for this project because we wanted to address several key challenges observed in our schools. One of the main issues was peer bullying, which negatively affects students’ well-being, self-esteem and academic success, sometimes leading to absenteeism or dropout. We also identified a lack of motivation among students, learning difficulties, and limited social inclusion, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. At the same time, teachers needed more innovative and engaging methods to support diverse learners. Another important need was to promote multilingualism, intercultural awareness and European values such as tolerance and cooperation. Many students had few opportunities to interact with peers from other countries or to use English in real-life situations. Through this project, we aimed to create a more inclusive, motivating and supportive learning environment by using music as a tool to foster collaboration, creativity and communication.
