Objectives

TO DEVELOP INNOVATIVE PRACTICES Promote education and information literacy and environmental issues through the co-production of stories and media productions between students, teachers and journalists with 2 themes: - information professions; - environmental issues related to global warming in Boulogne-sur-Mer (France) and Galati (Romania). CO-CONSTRUCTION We encourage cooperation between teachers and journalists, actors from professional worlds who are not used to collaborating. Co-construction leads to actions where everyone acts according to their skills, their missions, their practices. Teachers do not become journalists. Reporters do not improvise as teachers. Regarding work on the environment, direct contacts with scientists are privileged. FEEL EUROPEAN The partner establishments wish to open up to Europe. Two school mobilities promote cultural openness and raise awareness of the participants' European citizenship. For Romanian students, this is an opportunity, as part of learning French as a foreign language, to be in contact with the French-speaking world.

Background

CLIMATE CHANGE The project raises students' awareness of environmental issues through a theme that directly concerns them: the coastal areas where they live in the face of the fight against global warming. We want these young people to be actors in the actions to be undertaken in the near future and two vectors guide our action: - media and information literacy; - openness to Europe. MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY The evolution of our information environment requires the development of media and information literacy, because disinformation does not spare scientific circles. On climate issues, students are confronted with totally opposing, climate-sceptical, even conspiratorial discourses. In terms of science and the environment, the search for solutions requires access to reliable information. Our proposal supports students and teachers in the development of these key skills. DISCOVER EUROPE Our project offers students a cultural opening to the European project. The aim is to understand how the European Union provides solutions to local environmental issues and to discover the solutions implemented in partner countries.
