We wanted to develop in students an awareness of European citizenship and an understanding of how two different democratic systems function. The practical objective was to guide students through the voting process and to help overcome any apprehensions related to this civic exercise.
We applied for this project in order to establish a partnership with a foreign school participating in the “European Parliament Ambassador School” programme, with the aim of fostering a better understanding of how democracy functions within the European Union. We also sought to further open our schools to the European dimension: - for the French school, by creating a new dynamic of exchanges with new partners; - for the Portuguese school, by creating a mobility opportunity specifically for students in vocational education sections.
