Objectives

We wanted to identify ways of improving our training provision, taking into account the needs of workers, companies and beneficiaries, at the level of living and employment areas. We wanted to organise opportunities to share experiences, to analyse what already exists in the light of the issues and ideas identified at national level, to reconcile them and take them to European level, and to inspire everyone's actions. Our priorities were to initiate reflection within each partner organisation to develop the skills and knowledge needed to support the necessary changes in training models, taking into account national contexts and the diversity of the populations supported. The expected results were a renewed and enriched vision of its context for each partner, with the indicators of new questions, a new framework for analysis and innovation in the proposals with regard to the problems identified, the creation of new study programmes and a renewed reflection on the notion of social and professional trajectory.

Background

Faced with the growing need to provide support for vulnerable people, people losing their independence or people with disabilities in the personal services sector, the partners identified the need to come up with innovative models for helping people, taking into account the ecological, digital and social transitions. The players involved had noted the limitations of the methods already in place to meet these challenges. Our decision to apply for this project was based on the idea of the added value provided by breaking down barriers (between training organisations and businesses) and opening up to new models of thinking on a European scale, making it possible to approach these issues in a different way and opening up possibilities not previously considered, through a more systemic approach. The needs we were seeking to meet were to be able to support change and the transformation of existing practices and attitudes, both in terms of training and the ways in which professionals working to help people do their jobs. We also wanted to broaden our view of the sector's complex situation, and of the limits of the action taken to date.
