The objectives of the ACHIEVE CCS project were focused on promoting gender equality in the cultural and creative sector (CCS). The project primarily aimed to strengthen the participation and representation of young women, particularly in leadership and decision-making roles, where they remain underrepresented. It also sought to contribute to reducing gender-based discrimination and the gender pay gap, while improving the visibility of women in artistic, cultural, and media fields. Another important objective was to support the professional development of participants by providing better access to training, mentoring, and networking activities, in order to enhance their skills and confidence in advancing their careers. The project also aimed to raise awareness among sector stakeholders about the importance of gender equality and diversity, and to encourage more inclusive working environments. Through these actions, ACHIEVE CCS aimed to contribute to a more inclusive, equitable, sustainable, and diverse cultural and creative sector in Europe.
The project aimed to address persistent inequalities between women and men in the cultural and creative sector (CCS) across Europe. Despite strong female participation in studies related to arts, culture, and media, women remain underrepresented among professionals in the sector, particularly in leadership and decision-making positions. They also face pay gaps, lower visibility of their work, and limited access to self-employment, training, and networking opportunities. These challenges were particularly observed in the partner countries, where women in the CCS were also strongly affected by specific contexts, such as the consequences of the pandemic or socio-economic conditions, further exacerbating existing inequalities. In this context, the project aimed to strengthen the participation and representation of young women in the CCS, combat gender-based discrimination and the gender pay gap, and support their professional development through training, mentoring, and networking activities.
