Objectives

The IGNITE project aimed to foster a spirit of social entrepreneurship among young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or disconnected from traditional support systems, enabling them to become drivers of sustainable and inclusive development in their local communities. Its main objective was to provide them with the tools, skills, and spaces needed to turn their ideas into impactful projects. IGNITE also sought to strengthen the capacities of youth professionals through a continuous training programme (CPD) and a Youth Lab model that promotes more participatory, value-driven support aligned with the principles of the social and solidarity economy. Finally, the project aimed to create a transnational community of engaged actors by sharing multilingual educational tools via a digital platform and promoting inclusive, sustainable, and replicable educational practices at the European level.

Background

The IGNITE project was born from a shared observation among partners: young people—particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with a migration history—struggle to access sustainable pathways to empowerment and social inclusion. Led by PPC, the consortium aimed to address this need by developing an innovative project promoting social entrepreneurship as a lever for inclusion, civic engagement, and a response to local environmental and cultural challenges. The partners identified a lack of suitable educational tools, low recognition of young people's entrepreneurial potential, and a clear need for dedicated training for youth professionals. IGNITE set out to create an enabling ecosystem by equipping both young people and youth workers with modular learning content, prototyping-focused Youth Labs, and a collaborative digital platform. It responds to EU priorities on employability, inclusion, and the green transition.
