Talk2Me aimed to develop and implement innovative pedagogical approaches combining language learning with artistic and creative practices. By placing performingand visual arts at the core of the learning process, the project supported the transition from basic communication to more complex dialogue, while fostering confidence, expression, and interaction. A key objective was to co-create these methodologies with young migrants, youth workers, and educators, ensuring their relevance and adaptability to different contexts. The project also focused on strengthening professional competences through training activities, peer learning, and transnational exchanges. Talk2Me capitalised on its results by producing accessible and transferable outputs, including a methodological booklet, audiovisual materials, and dissemination through an existing collaborative platform. Local artistic projects allowed testing in real contexts, promoting intercultural dialogue and visibility. The involvement of IAFM reinforced the linguistic dimension, ensuring a more structured approach. Overall, the project contributed to innovation and recognition in youth work, promoting non-formal education as a key tool for inclusion.
The Talk2Me project builds on the Erasmus+ project DeTalks (2018–2020), which highlighted both the potential and limits of creative, non-formal approaches for the linguistic inclusion of young migrants. Across partner countries, organisations observed that, despite diverse contexts, young migrants face persistent barriers in language acquisition, social participation, and recognition of their cultural identities. While many existing structures focus on either language training or social support, few combine these dimensions through innovative pedagogical approaches. The use of artistic practices for both social and linguistic development remains underexplored. Talk2Me addressed this gap by integrating performing and visual arts into language learning, creating more inclusive and engaging environments and safer spaces for expression. The project also promoted a plurilingual and participatory approach, valuing participants’ cultural backgrounds and involving them in co-creation processes, thus strengthening confidence and belonging. It also supported professionals by providing tools and fostering peer learning, contributing to more inclusive practices across Europe.
