Our main objective was to empower young parents in their roles through enhanced emotional awareness and parenting skills, using creative and evidence-based methods. We aimed to develop and disseminate user-friendly resources in multiple languages, train professionals using innovative approaches, and create inclusive, intergenerational learning spaces. We also sought to foster shared civic values and promote sustainable practices in parenting education. Ultimately, we aimed to strengthen the foundation of early childhood development and intergenerational solidarity across European communities.
We applied for the Becoming Parents project to support young and prospective parents, as well as professionals working with families, by strengthening their emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and parenting skills. We identified a gap in accessible, practical resources and inclusive training for those navigating early parenthood. The project responded to growing societal needs for intergenerational knowledge-sharing and addressed the lack of peer-supported learning opportunities. By integrating emotional literacy, positive parenting, and creative expression, the project aimed to empower families and practitioners alike in fostering resilient, nurturing environments for children across Europe.
