By implementing the project, we wanted to increase students’ and teachers’ knowledge about the European Union and foster a sense of European identity and active citizenship. We aimed to develop awareness and responsibility towards environmental sustainability and climate change. We also wanted to promote inclusion by supporting students with fewer opportunities and encouraging intercultural understanding and social cohesion among participants from different backgrounds. Another objective was to strengthen teachers’ professional skills, innovative teaching methods, and leadership capacities. Finally, we aimed to create lasting international partnerships and inspire all participants to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world. We also aimed to integrate the project outcomes into the daily practices of schools, ensuring long-term impact. Additionally, we wanted to showcase good practices and inspire other institutions to implement similar projects.
We applied for this project to address the need for raising awareness about the European Union, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering inclusion and intercultural understanding among students and teachers. We observed that students had limited knowledge of EU policies, lacked engagement in environmental issues, and that some faced social and economic disadvantages limiting their opportunities. Teachers also needed more support in developing innovative, inclusive, and environmentally conscious teaching methods. Through this project, we aimed to equip both students and educators with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to become active, responsible, and environmentally aware European citizens. We also wanted to strengthen cooperation between schools from different countries and create lasting partnerships. Additionally, we sought to inspire students and teachers to take initiative in their communities and promote positive change.
