We wanted the project to impact the young participants significantly in relation to their personal and social development. We hoped the project would be potentially a pivotal life experience for the young people and therefore serve as a catapult in enhancing their civic development and participation in society upon their return with huge personal and social learning. As well as this we envisioned that participation on the project would help the young people develop a range of competencies such as life skills, enhance social, emotional wellbeing, think more independently, and inspire their future prospects through a fun and engaging experiential-based learning trip that was inter-railing through Discover EU. Our objectives were to: 1. Give young people (who may never other wise) the opportunity to travel. 2. Expose the young people to new people and cultures 3. Give the young people the opportunity connect with their European peers. 4. Support the young people to get out of their comfort zone, think more independently, and challenge the conditioned thinking and views they may hold.
