Objectives

The topic of agriphotovoltaics was addressed using an innovative approach based on animations and short videos to create training modules, which are available online to anyone interested in the topic. Specifically, the AGRI4ENERGY consortium has set the following objectives: - conduct an updated analysis of agriphotovoltaics in Italy and Greece to identify the main characteristics of existing systems, case studies related to the main crops in the countries involved, and the main reference regulations; - develop at least 10 training modules that include animations, video interviews with experts, and videos on specific technical aspects and case studies; - promote the use of the modules through specific dissemination efforts on the main social media and web platforms, and through institutional channels to facilitate access to the developed training material and maximize its visibility among target groups and stakeholders.

Background

The partners' motivations for developing and implementing the AGRI4ENERGY project are related to the ecological transition, new opportunities for photovoltaic system installers, and the modernization of agricultural businesses in Italy and Greece. The project addressed the emerging agriphotovoltaic sector, a technology that combines solar energy production with agriculture. Agriphotovoltaic systems consist of solar panels installed on agricultural land, exploiting unused or underutilized space to "control" the irradiation of crops. This type of system can bring enormous benefits to agricultural businesses. AGRI4ENERGY was designed to respond to the peculiarities of the topics addressed. By the project. Agriphotovoltaics is not a new technology which would require a dedicated training program, but rather the application of existing technologies in a different context. This requires specific knowledge of the specifics of the agricultural environment. For this reason, the AGRI4ENERGY partners have decided to adopt an informal training approach.
