DigitHUB aimed to promote innovative learning spaces and training opportunities focused on environmental sustainability, sustainable mobility, and active citizen participation. The project strengthened the competences of public administrations, professionals, and adult learners to support the green transition of cities, especially in small and medium-sized urban areas. To achieve this goal, DigitHUB developed an integrated learning approach combining digital tools, practical training, and collaborative learning. A key objective was the creation of an e-learning space offering courses on sustainable development and participatory urban planning. The project also equipped participants with skills and tools to analyse citizens’ attitudes toward environmental issues and new forms of mobility, helping them design more inclusive green policies. Through workshops, study visits, and project-based activities, participants explored real case studies and developed ideas for sustainable interventions in their territories, strengthening knowledge, cooperation, and commitment to ecological transition.
DigitHUB project was developed to support the green transition of cities by strengthening digital and sustainability competences among citizens, professionals, and public administrations. Urban areas face increasing challenges such as pollution, congestion, and environmental degradation, making sustainable mobility and responsible behaviours essential to improve quality of life and protect public spaces. European policies such as the European Green Deal, the Council Recommendation on learning for the green transition (2022), and the Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027) stress the importance of integrating green and digital skills into education and training systems. DigitHUB responded to this need by raising awareness on sustainable development and providing accessible learning opportunities to help individuals and organisations apply green solutions in daily life and urban planning. Through collaboration and innovative learning in adult education, the project empowered citizens and professionals to support sustainable urban development and environmentally responsible communities.
