Objectives

This Erasmus+ initiative aimed to design an educational framework that effectively integrates academic content with students’ passion for football, enhancing both engagement and relevance. The program’s core objective was to reduce dropout rates among young athletes by equipping them with practical knowledge and competencies applicable to professional roles in the sports industry. By incorporating digital tools, innovative teaching methods, and real-life scenarios, the project fostered active participation and boosted student motivation. A key focus was on strengthening cooperation between schools and sports organizations, promoting a comprehensive educational approach that nurtures academic achievement and personal development. Teachers, families, and local stakeholders were actively engaged, emphasizing the role of sport as a driver for inclusion, social cohesion, and the development of transferable skills. The initiative also highlighted the importance of aligning education with students’ interests to open new career pathways. Ultimately, it contributed to building a more flexible, future-oriented learning environment that responds to youth needs and supports long-term educational success.

Background

The “Goal for Future – G4F” project was created to respond to the growing challenge of school dropout among student-athletes and the absence of educational paths aligned with their interests. In both Italy and Türkiye, many young people involved in football struggle to balance academic responsibilities with athletic commitments, often resulting in disengagement and early school leaving. This project aimed to develop a structured and engaging program that integrates football-related content into the school curriculum, offering students practical knowledge and skills applicable to future careers in the sports sector. Through the use of modern teaching strategies, digital resources, and real-world scenarios, the initiative made learning more dynamic and personalized. It also fostered cooperation between educational institutions, families, and sports professionals to create a supportive network around students. By aligning education with students’ passions and future aspirations, the project sought to enhance engagement, reduce dropout rates, and promote long-term personal and professional growth. The initiative also aimed to encourage innovation in teaching and strengthen ties between schools and local communities.
