Objectives

Encourage students’ interest in STEM/STEAM Increase the use of digital tools and AI in secondary schools Develop creative interdisciplinary learning resources for inclusive learning Help teachers and educators understand the potential of AI in combination with art and design, and how to make effective and ethical use of AI and new technologies to support sociocultural inclusiveness. Stimulate collaboration between schools, businesses, and higher education institutions

Background

IAIA is a small-scale partnership in school education aimed at co-creating and validating creative learning and teaching material for the incorporation of artificial intelligence, art, and design into inclusive education. The IAIA project addresses the following needs: The need for accessible and creative learning material on AI: there is a lack of interdisciplinary resources that integrate AI with art and design. The need to support teachers in the digital transition: many educators feel insecure or lack up-to-date information on how to implement AI effectively and ethically in their classrooms. The need for an inclusive approach through technology: AI can be a powerful tool to support students facing cognitive challenges (such as reading, writing, or visual abstraction). The need to promote interest in STEM/STEAM: there is a constant need to encourage students' interest in science and technology by using attractive, hands-on methods like the creative combination of technology and artistic expression. The need for ethical and critical awareness: as the use of AI becomes common, students and teachers need to understand the basics of data usage, legal aspects, and copyright to apply technology in a thoughtful and positive way
