Objectives

With regard to students, our project aims to: -Raise students’ awareness that environmental issues are likely to worsen in the future unless decisive actions are taken, both globally and by individual citizens, and that learning to live “more sustainably” is perhaps the most critical challenge of the 21st century; -Educate students in inclusion and shared participation; - Promote the critical, safe, and respectful use of new technologies, encouraging actions aimed at concrete objectives; - Challenge students to find practical solutions in their daily lives that lead to changes in habits and greater respect for the environment; - Increase awareness of climate change; - Encourage lifestyle changes; - Enhance digital awareness and promote the use of digital media to produce educational and socially valuable content. With regard to teachers, the project seeks to: - Improve and integrate good practices related to biodiversity, the environment, sustainability, technology, and inclusion; - Produce useful materials to be shared via European platforms, with other teachers, on the school website, and within the local community; - Disseminate the materials produced through a dedicated websit - Disseminate the produced material via YouTube

Background

Learning to live more sustainably is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. This project addresses the convergence of the three main priorities shared by the participating organisations: the need for students to reconnect with nature, not only to gain knowledge about it, but also to develop the ability and motivation to protect biodiversity, both locally and globally; the need to develop digital skills, not only for the purpose of environmental education, but also for students' personal benefit and future academic progress; the need to foster the integration and inclusion of students with special learning and behavioural needs. Firstly, the project aims to educate and raise awareness within local communities about sustainability and climate change, with a specific focus on the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). This aligns with the overarching goals of the participating organisations, all of which are committed to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. Secondly, the project seeks to support families and the wider community in adopting eco-friendly habits and making small yet meaningful changes to their lifestyles, following the 4S4C approach.
