Objectives

The main objective was to empower parents as the primary educators of their children in the digital environment and to strengthen adult educators’ competences in teaching media and digital literacy. We aimed to: ● Increase parents’ knowledge of online risks, safe internet use, and healthy digital habits. ● Equip adult educators with innovative methods and tools, such as comics, digital magazines, and podcasts. ● Foster communication and trust between children and parents regarding digital life. ● Create sustainable, multilingual resources that can be reused beyond the project’s lifetime.

Background

We applied for the Positive Digital Parenting (PDP) project because we identified a strong need among parents and educators to improve their understanding of digital literacy, online safety, and media balance. Many parents, especially those with fewer opportunities, lacked the confidence and tools to guide their children safely through the digital world. At the same time, adult educators needed innovative, practical resources to support families in this area. The project addressed these gaps by developing high-quality, accessible learning materials and training opportunities focused on family learning and intergenerational education.
