MiniEduAgri aimed to promote environmental awareness and educate primary school students about the impact of agri-food activities on climate change. It also aimed to increase knowledge about the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork strategies, measure pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors, promote STEM aspects of food production, and encourage healthy habits and food consumption. MiniEduAgri sought to foster a sense of identity in rural and isolated schools and increase partners' competence.
MiniEduAgri aimed to address the needs and goals of the participating organisations, composed of one Primary School and one Directorate of Primary Education located in cities far from the central areas of their countries (Ķekava and Lamia), as well as an Enterprise of Psychologists operating in the school education system and active in the field of Environmental Psychology. At the beginning of the project, the partners identified a gap in activities promoting environmental values and civic engagement among primary school students. These topics were not normally included in the primary school programmes of the partners or at the national level, as they were considered more relevant to adolescence. However, recent data on civic engagement at later ages, active citizenship, and environmental education showed results that needed improvement. Although collected data on primary school students’ commitment to common European goals were lacking, action was considered necessary to reinforce their civic engagement towards environmental sustainability.
