The project aimed to respond to identified challenges in vocational education through three interconnected objectives. First, to strengthen learners’ employability skills in the creative sector by providing practical knowledge on entrepreneurship, legal aspects, career development and the European dimension, supporting their transition to the labour market. Second, to improve cultural understanding and foreign language competences through an interdisciplinary approach based on History of Art, enabling learners to develop both subject-specific knowledge and language skills in a vocational context. Third, to establish sustainable cooperation and knowledge exchange between partner institutions through the structured use of digital tools for communication, content development and project coordination.
The project was developed in response to shared needs identified by both partner institutions, based on their experience in vocational education and training. A key need was to strengthen learners’ employability skills in the creative sector, including understanding of career pathways, self-employment, legal aspects and entrepreneurship. Both organisations also identified a lack of interdisciplinary approaches in VET, particularly limited integration of foreign language learning into vocational subjects, as well as a shortage of structured and up-to-date teaching materials in 20th–21st century History of Art. In addition, there was a need for more digital and interactive learning resources that support active student engagement. These needs were addressed through the development of integrated educational materials combining History of Art, English for specific purposes and employability topics, as well as a practical guidebook and digital resources designed for use in VET contexts.
