With this project, we aimed to add an international dimension to the intake programme (entry education) of Gilde Opleidingen and to broaden and strengthen our structural cooperation with the Rhein-Maas Berufskolleg. We succeeded, as this project will be continued in the following school year even without this E+ KA2 project funding.
International activities are often aimed at students in the higher levels of vocational education. With this project, we specifically wanted to involve young people from entry-level programmes (level 1). This target group often has fewer opportunities in the labour market: they usually do not hold a secondary school diploma, often have a migrant background, or face significant learning difficulties. For them, strengthening intrinsic motivation is essential. We aim to equip them with skills that contribute to independence, entrepreneurship, and proactive behaviour. Cross-border learning offers these students a unique opportunity to acquire skills that are only limitedly developed within the school environment, such as intercultural and social skills as well as a professional work attitude. These are precisely the competencies needed to function effectively in society. The project therefore focused both on broadening the horizons of young people and on building sustainable cross-border cooperation.
