The organization from the Netherlands, Georgia, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Türkiye creates the project. We together as a group of organizations who already knew and respected each other from working on different projects. Over time, we realized how much we had in common—not just in our goals, but in the challenges faced by the young people we work with. That’s when the "Building Bridges" project was born. We noticed that our audiences share many of the same issues. Young people in our communities often feel isolated, misunderstood, and disconnected from others with different cultural or religious backgrounds. Stereotypes, prejudices, and a lack of opportunities to meet peers from other cultures are still major barriers. Many of them also struggle with self-expression, understanding their role in society, and building meaningful connections. We are deeply concerned about these challenges because we see their impact every day. Young people feeling this way lose confidence—they also miss the chance to realize their potential as leaders and changemakers in their communities. That’s why we wanted to take action. We knew we could create something special, something that truly helps our participants. This is where "Building Bridges" comes in. We designed this project to be a safe, creative, and interactive space where young people can come together, share their experiences, and break down the walls of misunderstanding. A two-step project felt perfect for this. By having one mobility in Georgia and another in the Netherlands, we could create a stronger connection between participants and show them that diversity is not just about differences—it’s about finding common ground too. We strongly believe that projects like this don’t just change the participants—they also create ripple effects. When young people build confidence, develop empathy, and learn to work together, they bring that energy back to their own communities. For us, that’s what makes this effort so meaningful. The "Building Bridges" project aimed to promote tolerance, diversity, and cross-cultural understanding by bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds. With this project, we wanted to achieve the goals that united us and that we think are important for our youth. Our objectives were: Support sustainable growth and social cohesion while reinforcing European identity and active citizenship. Provide participants with opportunities to learn about and appreciate different cultures, histories, and religions. Enable participants to gain self-awareness, confidence, and essential skills, preparing them for future personal and professional challenges. Inspire participants to actively participate in civic life and contribute to building inclusive, respectful societies. With the 2 step project, we wanted to expand youth knowledge about various cultures, histories, and religions. Encourage their creative expression and active participation in civic life. We aimed to bring together young individuals from diverse backgrounds, nations, and cultures to foster dialogue and cooperation. To teach respect for all opinions and challenge stereotypes through evaluations and discussions. One of the important was to strengthen relations between EU and non-EU states, strengthen friendships and mutual understanding through art and culture. With the project we promoted cross-cultural learning and dialogue to enhance tolerance, mutual respect, and pluralism. We equip participants with tools to combat prejudice and foster inclusive society.
